Does anyone here play this song?

This is by far the GD song that gives me the most trouble...verses and chorus I am fine on...Its the solo section I always get tripped up on.

Some versions I listen to it seems like there is an extra beat or two before it returns to to the head...

Also, what time signature is this in ? It does not feel like 4/4

I don't think I've played it. In listening to it now, I think you can count it in a fast four; however the chord changes are such that it feels like some measures have six beats. In the verses, (and again I'm listening to it now, I haven't charted it) a line has 16 beats; so you can count four measures of four beats. It's just that where the chords fall makes it feel like some measures have six and some have two beats. The guitar break, in the one time I counted it, sounds like the same type thing; that you can count the whole break in four and it works out.

I could be wrong, but that's my guess on a quick listen to the studio version.

I borrowed some chords off a websearch (haven't checked them); here's the first verse counted in four ...

|A---|--G-|--D-|E-A-|

|Bm-A-|G-D-|----|----|

|D---|A---|E---|A---|

|A---|AEA-|

I love playing this song! The solo section is a bit tricky because of where the chords fall. And, there are some really loose versions out there where it sounds like no one is really laying into them at all. Sometimes I count it all in 4/4 and sometimes I break it up into different segments. Sometimes it sounds like the final A chord is actually still on the D.

I think Dave's chords above are for the verses, which are slightly different.

This is what I have:

|: A |A G |G D |D A |
| Bm A |G D |D |D A :|
