Anyone out there playing their Alembic through one of these heads or cabinet? I have a series one and am looking to travel light. I'm considering the Bergie 112 with the tweeter and looking for a compact head that kicks. Experiences?

The Eden WT-400 just knocks me out. Plenty of power, mine pushes a pair of Euphonic cabs which are pretty power hungry with ease [I mix and match between 2)VL110's and 2)VL208's] and this amp has tons of fat tone. The optional gigbag is excellent too. I have 5 amps/rigs to choose from and the Eden goes out more than the rest of them combined. FYI, I expect my next "high power" rig will be my old Alembic F-1X preamp matched to a Stewart 2100 power amp in a 3U soft case. Killer tone, 2100 watts @ 4 ohms and under 25 pounds! I've been watching for a used amp for a couple of months.

Ron-

The Bergie HT-112 is wonderful. I have one, and it handles my Series II 5-strings with ease. The tone is very pure and flat - you hear the bass and you, not the cab. I still prefer my Bag End S15X, but the Bergie is a close second.

If you happen to play upright as well, that's where the Bergantino really shines. The best, most accurate tone I've ever gotten out of my upright was through my F-1X and the Bergie HT-112.

If you geta chance to play a Clarus, post a review. I've been considering one, but don't have a local shop to hear one before buying.

Ron,

I agree with Wayne. I have two HT-112s and they are quite nice. I use them with an iAMP 600 or F-1X/QSC Powerlight 1.4 set up. I've even done small club gigs with one cab without trouble.

I currently have a Walter Woods amp on order, and I'm looking forward to getting it. I tried my friend's Woods amp through the Bergie 112, 212, and 310 cabinets and really liked the sound. It's perhaps not quite as "open" sounding as the F-1X/QSC combo, but you can't beat it for convenience. Plus with two input channels you can experiment with separate EQ per pickup.
