Hi all! I've been revamping my rig, going backwards, if you will. Currently, it's a Showman into a Sunn 200S and I've added a Bandmaster to two K120s in Thiele cabs for the treble pickups when running in stereo. However, I've had this ancient Bag End double 12 cab sitting in my basement for decades and it occurs to me that it might a good cab for the treble pickup. the internal volume for each 12 seems to be 14"x18"x20". So, I'm curious what the old Alembic/Hard Trucker cabs might have been. Here's what it looks like right now:

Hey there Edwin , Well you are in luck with your request for these cabinet dimensions ! I have Both Single and Double cabs here to measure ! The Double is an original GD Wall of sound cab as I have been told . I have 2 singles that have lived in my one of my stereo systems for 2 decades (loaded with Gauss 2840's) . Singles are 20" deep 22 1/2 " Tall & 18"wide The double twelve is 24" deep 28" tall 19"wide (loaded with JBL k120's) , It is a beast ! and the Single 18 ( loaded with Gauss 4880) (It can part hair @ 10 feet ) is even more of a beast !!!!! Thanks! How does the double twelve sound for bass? Yours sounds similar to mine. I've got to figure out if I can actually get the thing in my car! The two Joe's cabs are pretty ergonomic. |

HI Edwin, When I first received this Double 12, I tested it with a Series I in mono mode with both bridge and neck pickups next I tested it with just the bridge pickup. In my opinion if you do not push the SPL and transients peaks it is suitable for stereo playing with a Series instrument. Nice definition in the higher spectrum and nice lower and upper midrange character (growl) . But I would be very cautious about pushing the lows. It sounds really nice with guitar full range . The 2 k140's in mine are 8 ohms each , I have them wired parallel to make a 4 ohm load. |

That is such a cool old school rig! way cooler than my Acoustic 370/Gallien-Krueger/Verlage stack(60's-70's-80's) rig...nice job! probably sounds warm as a wood stove... Tony |
