I would like to thank Jimmy Johnson for gracing me with his presence at the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City today. It was great to meet you and chat for a bit about Alembics! I love my Alembic and hope to someday get a matching 5 string and carry on your legacy with the instrument. Hey, I might even figure out a way to see your show Monday night! Thank you again for taking a second to chat with a working dog.

Hey Curt,

Nice to meet and chat with you today too. What a pleasant surprise to walk around the corner and see a nice old Alembic making the big sound. You'd better post a picture of that bass here for everybody to enjoy.

Sorry I can't arrange any comps for the Starlight gig but of you're free and can make it that would be cool! Its a great band and we get to play a nice bunch of music...

Keep that bass roaring - and your tuck and roll amp too - pretty great.

Hi Curt; welcome to the club! That's pretty cool having Jimmy show up at one of your gigs.

If I were still playing out, and Jimmy showed up at one of my gigs, he'd be easy to spot: 'WHO is that guy, and WHY is he laughing that hard at us ?!?'

I figured you were out doing the 'summer sheds' with JT, how's the road treating you?

Great to hear from all of you! Jimmy, I wasn't asking for a comp ticket as certainly understand how tough that can be. I am coming to the show for sure as I do not have a gig tonight. Just wave at all the bald guys and I'm sure one of them will be me!
I will get a picture of my Alembic posted soon and I'll also throw up a picture of the tuck and roll amplifier.

"Tuck and Roll Amp"

Must be an old Kustom. They were cool, especially the sparkle ones.

Hey Curt, wow, glad you made it. Maybe I saw you down there? I don't look at the audience too closely as it makes me nervous. HA!

Kustom from KC is a good guess but I'll let Curt explain his groovy little rig. Yes we need pics of the whole setup if you're willing to share.

Thanks for coming to the gig. Your plaza band was rockin' yesterday. Carry on!

Yes, I made it. Scored 5th row center. Gave you a quick wave when making my way to our seats at the very beginning of the first song. It was amazing - you are truly a musician's musician. Perfect tone, incredible feel, totally committed to the song as well as perfectly executed fills. Just great! You've officially inspired me to get back in the woodshed and live up to my Alembic's full potential. jjohnson chilling with JT

working up the pics - I need to resize the images. Here is the signal chain:
87SC4569 Stanley Clarke Signature Deluxe
Polytune tuner
MXR Envelope Bass Filter
Boss OC3
Sansamp
feed to house and feed to amp
1989 Ampeg SVT350T - took it to a car custom shop and had them tuck and roll the cabinet with red sparkle vinyl. Black crushed velvet for the speaker cloth and dice for the knobs :-)

Aw, thanks for the kind words there Curt. Glad you and the Mrs enjoyed the show. Nice weather too! That place is rough when it rains.

No rush on the pics but I know the gang here will enjoy them.

Cheers,
