Jaco covers

Author Message terryc Senior Member Username: terryc Post Number: 2233 Registered: 11-2004 Posted on Thursday, August 07, 2014 - 7:59 am:    It seems that most pro players always seem to cover 'Teen Town', Marcus Miller, Victor Wooten are two that come to mind but I have never heard any cover versions of 'River People', although it may sound easy on the ear it certainly isn't on the hands!. Or any other notable bass songs featuring Jaco. Ones that come to mind are 'Punk Jazz', 'Port of Entry','Barbary Coast' Have as anyone on here hear of anyone doing these covers or others I have not mentioned? keith_h Senior Member Username: keith_h Post Number: 2049 Registered: 2-2005 Posted on Thursday, August 07, 2014 - 11:32 am:    Not heard of anyone doing covers however Barbary Coast is probably my favorite. There is a Recording of Three Views of a Secret with Oteil Burbridge playing a beautiful intro. Also I was actually at a live Concert once in Japan, with Victor Wooten and Oteil Burbridge and they were playing River People. It was a great Version. There are clips on youtube of a Weather Report tribute Band featuring Scott Kinsey, Hadrien Feraud and others.
