Me too Peter. It took a long time for it to even settle in. I will never forget a conversation that I had with Jerry regarding a Howard Roberts concept relating geometric shapes to musical notes that he wanted to tell me about.___ Fascinating _____! |

19 years already. It was my church and my salvation. It was where I went when I needed to be put back on the right path even when I didn't think I needed to be. On a personal note, the last week in Chicago ended up being so very special. There was a sax player performing outside of the venue. He was a great player and well you know the family can be very generous. He had good crowds, lots of 20's in his case, and by the last night he was up on stage with the band jamming his _ off inside the venue! The music took me somewhere deep and dark that night you know the kind of depth when the people around you are starting to ask you if you are okay? I was standing on a chair on the floor of Soldier Field at the lowest point of my life. Then I was saved by a song. Not just any song, but what I thought at the time was my least favorite, if not down right hated tune, sugar mag. I was dancing on that chair like an angel dancing on a pin. In rejoice, I was saved. It was over. I hugged one of the large columns on the way out and gave thanks. I ran into my sister in the lot. I didn't even know she was there. She did not get in the show. I had an extra for that night. A few short weeks later it was over for good. For me it was the environment created that allowed magical things to happen. At the time it was the best out of 150 or so shows I had been to. Of course when I listened to the tapes of that night it didn't sound that way. So many roads my friend, I miss thee. |
