I read somewhere that Alembic basses were made so that you had to put the bass on a stand or in it's case when not using it.I have always hated dealing with guitar stands because I felt that they were a pain in the ass untill now.I discovered the Ultimate guitar stand. It holds my Alembic Epic and would hold nicely any Alembic instrument. It folds down to a nice, compact shape and it fits perfectly in the back of my SKB 6 space rack.Ultimate makes all kinds of space saving stands be it mike or guitar. See ya. |

Hey Dave, It sounds like you're talking about the same Ultimate stand I picked up this past weekend. It folds very small, has no sliding poles and sits very close to the ground when opened. When I sat my Mark King on this, it felt so secure that I had to buy this one. Mikey/ |

Dave I got one of these stands six month ago, this is the first stand I feel good about putting my series 1 on, I've gone as far as bumping the stand with my bass on it to see how stable it is, It pass with flying colors, and is worth the money. how ever, I can't hang my Steinberger on it |

Haha, yeah,no kidding Charles. You could always use the Steinberger for a boat paddle but then again,I wouldn't do that.I really like the old Steinberger's but wouldn't trade my Epic for a boatload of Steinberger's if they came floating by. |

Dave The steinberger is getting hard to get strings for (double ball), but its still a nice bass, mine is the XM-4 it the one with a body and binding around it it one of the first , it was designed by Mike Rutherford,it has the graphic neck, but your right, I still would rather play my Series 1 or my Epic |
