Hi Alain, unfortunately I can't make it to Hilversum Saturday morning. But it happens to be that I went to Edwin's yesterday to check out the new Alembic stock. I've studied and admired your wonderful Series II for at least half an hour, and Edwin was kind enough to demonstrate the side- and frontLEDs with dimmer (very cool!). I haven't played her, because I think it's not appropriate to play a bass before the rightful owner has had the chance, but I admired her from top to bottom and you may be pleased to hear that the Wineburst finish, the continuous backplates, the LEDs and... EVERYTHING about her is nothing short of stunning. If she sounds just as good as she looks you'll be over the moon, guaranteed! Have fun, say hi to Edwin from me, drive home carefully (eyes on the road!) and enjoy every minute of your new family heirloom. Hopefully there'll still be a little Alembic Club rendez-vous at Edwin's... Wilfred |
