It looks as though the "Pain and Grief" site is gone? At least my stored link is invalid.
Same with a quick Google search.

Hi Rusty,
It is/was a site that would list Alembic Basses Sn#'s, report any that may have been stolen, pictures, old Brochures etc. The last time I was able to access the site the listings were from the beginning SN#'s to around 2011. Then it looked like there was a lack of upkeep.
Which is probably why its gone. A lot of cool Pics and I was able to glean some background from my old Gals. ;)

Yep, it's gone...
As soon as I can afford it, it will look for another server (there will be another link)
No worries, all data is in my computer and I have hundreds more serial numbers + pics that will be included when I have the time :-)

Flip,
I had a suspiciation this was a creation with its Genesis here.
It was / still? A great site! Helpful in knowing potential purchases and History.
You did a great job, hope things work out for best.
Peace,
Pete

Temporary solution: http://members.ziggo.nl/alembicserialnumbers/alembic/10.htm

Uploading all pictures will take some time (+/- 2GB @ 600 kb/s) and not all pictures have a link in the list, I think you can access them through this link as soon as all is uploaded (should give a list of folders with the serial numbers) http://members.ziggo.nl/alembicserialnumbers/alembic/images

Ya'll have to sit tight for the pictures, space on this server is limited to 25 MB :-(

The main list is online again and I hope to have a new provider next week :-)

Here's the new permanent link: www.fcbass.nl/alembic/10.htm

I will try to make all pictures accessible, but it will be lots of work so it will take some time... (about 3700 pics, they were not in the list on the original server) The link to the folders don't seem to work like the link on the members.ziggo account. (would be www.fcbass.nl/alembic/images on the new server)

The pictures can be accessed through this link I think, can someone please try it and give feedback?
Still uploading, so there will be some empty folders. I think it should be finished in about one hour after this post.

And thanx for the previous positive feedback btw :-)

Looks like you need to be logged on to that site to access the files ...

Login should not be required (not even possible I think)
Uploaded about 2000 pics now, about 1500 more to go :-)

Works for me.
Adriaan - I found you need to click on the serial number - not the folder icon.

Flip - thanks for being so diligent in your archiving endeavour; it truly is Epic!
