For those who pay attention to the Dead, some of you may have noticed since the reunion that Bobby often plays a Tele for parts of some shows. If you already know the story behind that Telecaster (or have read the link below) - stop reading here. If you don't, you might find the story at the following link interesting. I ran across it last night. The story of how Bobby came to play that Tele told me some things I didn't know and seemed kind of touching. http://dozin.com/bobs/tele.htm Bill |

The story leaves out one very interesting fact. The Tele is a '56! Here's another story about it from last year's S.F. Chronicle. (I remembered reading this in the back of my head, did a search and found it right away. Ain't the internet amazing for some things?) http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2004/03/21/PKGND5LCDD1.DTL&hw=bob+weir+telecaster&sn=001&sc=1000 Bill, tgo |

here is something that's not as poetic, but very interesting when it comes to Bob's guitars. |
