Well I have suffered one of these, confirmed by MRI, although I have difficulty in writing and playing the bass I have no facial symptoms or gross power loss on the right. Doctor said it will return, so statins and anti thrombolytics and R and R for a month. So much for karate, gym work and healthy eating! |

Jimmy is absolutely correct. Patience is needed while the synapses reconnect or redirect. You know that you can do it, you've done it before, why won't the body cooperate? Believe me, it will all come together. Way to go dodging a major bullet. It could have been worse, no doubt. My prayers are with you mate. slawie |

Oh dear, Terry. Hope you are on the mend, and do mind your doc's orders for R&R, that's usually the hardest one to comply with! |

That was worth a double-post Slawie. I have also heard the above suggestions, that trying to play, and listening to music hastens recovery. |

Terry, you hang in there brother, will be thinking of you. Hey, what the hell, now you've got a good excuse to play with a pick !! I recommend Fender Heavy 355's, (the big, manly-man triangles). Thank God you got a wake-up call. By the time you're good to go again, the warmer weather will be back, and it'll be time to fire up the FireBlade. All the Best, Joey |

Terry, Sorry to hear about your situation. Hoping for a speedy recovery. I think as soon as you are up for it you should try to play some. While your playing might not meet your expectations it will be helping to rebuild the connections needed for coordination. Just don't over do it to the point you get frustrated. Keith |

Terry, I have been on blood thinners for quite a while. I would have offered my get well wishes sooner, but I am home recuperating from surgery. If the docs order that you take the blood thinners, feel free to contact me as I have a lot of experience with the pros and cos of specific ones. Most important, get well, and you can rehabilitate. |

Terry, I have a friend who had a stroke a few years ago; he had a stutter for a couple of months and a few other tics for a bit and recovered fully...with the lucidity you are updating, you're gonna be fine, which makes us all happy...recover well and make sure you milk it for extras, whatever they may be...Tony |

Just got rid of the 24 hour ECG monitor today, did a gig last night with it in place. Managed to tuck the recorder away but our guitarist asked why I had two radio senders LOL! Secondly the adhesive pads they used, well getting them off my tender 57 year old skin was, lets say, a painful challenge! |
