Well, it always feels good to be remembered by good people. My Best to All of You ! For the life of me, I can not wrap my grey matter around 'Six-Oh', it just sounds like a typo. I am the most fortunate, I still ride the murdersickle, wail on the Alembics on the right days, and I take no prescriptions and have most of my brains left. After losing my wife to cancer in 2005, I've since found the woman that has made the time since we found each other the best time of my life, and I've had some good ones. My regret is that living this long allows you to lose people in your life, and it's I suppose a way of setting an emotional yardstick for how to prioritize life's ups and downs: I find that I've come to save truly getting upset for something that's worth it, and putting the everyday travails in their place. Other than that, I see where I might have done this or that differently, but wouldn't change much. I know me better, and have a little more confidence in me and a little more foregiveness for me (and the world) that I previously didn't know in my younger, 'green-eyed-monster' days, when my inner 12-year-old could be quite the churlish SOB at the drop of a hat. So maybe at long last, I'm comfortable in my own skin. Anyway, it's been a gas to get to know all of you, and hope my occasional two cents has been of use. I came to Alembic like a lot of us: 'Hello, why does my tone knob act like a wah-wah', and Susan and Mica's life began the circle again. I can not say enough about how gracious and supportive Susan and Mica and Mary have been to me, and how truly touched to be included in their world, I could never say THANK YOU enough. Plus, I got to know Will Gunn before he up and moved to Iowa, and Will has been a great friend and mentor, just the best. Thanks, Will ! So, from one freshly-minted codger, All the Best to All of You ! Gee, now I can get that 'Senior Price' at the buffet ! ! ! J o e y |

And a very, VERY big thanks to you, Joey, for YOUR friendship - you've been there for me as well when I truly needed it more times than I can count! And hey, just wait until you reach the Big Six FIVE - that's when the REAL Senior "Fun" begins! But meanwhile, here's wishing you a great Six-Oh - my, how time flies! Will |

Happy birthday, J o e y.... thanks for that post- there is a tremendous amount of insight and wisdom dropped in that single post. A little more confidence and a little more forgiveness might actually make the aging thing somewhat worthwhile, eh? Hope you enjoyed the day yesterday. |

Happy birthday Joey! My Dad has said that when I hit 50 he'll REALLY feel old, which is now less than a year away, oh well...anyway, if you still have parents (and it's possible) you've really made them feel old...anyway, play music and party up even if it hurts the next day, you've earned it! The crazy thing is, I DON'T feel this old, so maybe it IS a state of mind and it's only a number (which actually sums out that I've now felt and acted like a 12-year-old for what, 48 years ? ? ? ) Thank Goodness I was too embarrassed to insist on having a birthday party a Chuck E. Cheese ! ! ! Thanks for remembering me, thanks a lot. Joey |

Hey....you're NEVER too old for Chuck E. Cheese! I have found that they do get a little miffed when you try to get up & jam with the band though! LOL! |

Chuck E. Cheese! BRILLIANT! my Dad was saying he wanted to do something special next year for my 50'th; I said I should do a gig like I did for 40, get old in public but Chucky birthday would be a hoot... |

Happy Birthday Joey! The info and perspective you've shared has brightened my experience here over the years. As I recently discovered, turning 60 brings plenty of ironies and unexpected discoveries -- It is actually pretty cool to realize what a child we remain regardless of our years. Plus, you couldn't BUY a term like "sexagenarian"!! Enjoy. It sounds like you will. |

Hey Joey, Happy Birthday (VERY belated, I know) So I guess we're 10 years and 1 week apart. I think Sonicus said all the greats were born in March (Danno's also getting older this month too, I believe) Thanks for all of your guidance and fun stories |

Oh no we don't: You're fifty ! ! I remember 50, though . . . . Thanks ! At least you still qualify for the 'All the Coolest People are Born in March' brigade, so it's not all bad. Joey |

In my opinion, there is something special about every age we experience. There are certain freedoms and certain limitations applicable to each age. Joey, was your b-day the 18th or the 19th (mine was the 19th)? Again, enjoy your special month. Bones |
