He contacted the police and local pawn shops. He then put up a bunch of flyers in the area offering a $500 reward. About a week and a half later he got a call and the guitar was returned for the reward. An expensive lesson, but at least he got it back. The guy throwing the party for his wife's birthday had a nice PRS guitar and one of the other guests had brought him a couple of the fliers with the info about the "lost" PRS and the $500 reward so he could put them up locally.
