The living room is getting clogged enough that Sr. Mgmt. is threatening to buy me a new smaller amp (YESSSSSS) so I can move my old combo somewhere else. GK's backline 110 is just the right size and weight for the living room and my old knees. Does anyone have one or know anything about them? 70 watts is fine. I wonder about the 1x10, though. I don't want something that craps out on the low end. I play a 5 string half the time. I don't live on the low B but I do go there a bit. Any comments would be appreciated. Rich Edit: I'll go ahead and ask about the GK Backline 112 while we're here. It is close to the same size and weight as the 110 and is 100 watts. Anyone know about them? Hey Rich I happen to have one of those that I use for practice and quiet cafe style gigs. I not only played my six string through it but I also play my electric upright as well. It seems to surprise people with its clarity tone and punch. Don't get me wrong it is not in the same class as my heavy duty stuff but it is more than enough for your living room! Rory |

I have the GK 110 and I love it. I use it behind two acoustic guitar singer/songwriters to get the most upright bass sound I can get. It's great for two guitars, bass, and no drums. It even sounds good outside, but won't fill a theater stage. It's a great slap practice amp too. Hey Rory, it's good to hear from you! Here's hoping that your health is better and you're spreading your music around. Paul |

I also use a Backline 110 for livng room and acoustic rehearsals with my 4 strings. It's wonderful in that mode. I'll second others comments and say Hi Rory. Mike |

Thanks to all you guys for the feedback. I went ahead and ordered a Backline 112-II. It was just a tiny bit bigger and slightly more expensive than the 110 so I went ahead and got the 100W x 12". It should be here in a few days. I've been pretty impressed with the sound of my Epics on the GKs a friend let me play through lately. I think I'll be pleased with the 112 at home. Rich |
