Hey guys, i've just put my first iPhone app into apples iTunes Connect for testing. I'd like to get a few regular gigging musicians to test it for me so that I can iron out any bugs before I set it up for the app store.

It is intentionally a simple application designed for musicians and performers to help them work out how much it will cost for them to do a gig or indeed decide if a gig offered to them is worthwhile financially.

(1) The application allows you to set individual rates for up to session musicians or other individually priced players
(2) You can set a fixed amount that you want to play all band members excluding session players and the app will work out if that amount can be paid after costs have been calculated. If not and there are surplus funds available it will suggest a figure you can afford to pay these band members so that you do not lose money.

(3) A Simple report is provided to further assess the breakdown of costs.
(4) The report can be edited and/or forwarded by Email
(5) The app does not use a database so no data is stored when the app is closed, but you can save the image of the data entry screen once costs have been calculated and the image is stored in your photo library or as above save the detail in an email.
(6) No accounting for tax is included.
(7) Agent and manager fees should be are entered as percentages of the gig fee.

If you are an iPhone 4S to 6Plus and want to help with testing please drop me a private email to the address in my profile with YES in the subject and I will send you the link to the download.

I have already fixed a couple of minor issues and these should be released either this week or early next.

Rusty & OddmeterSam have already offered their services.
Thanks guys.

PS I hope I'm not breaking any forum rules here. If so, admin guys, just delete the posting.

Jazzyvee; the moderators are fine with your post since you are just asking for help with testing and not actually posting an advertisement.

So, when will you release a version for the dark side? (Android)
:-)

Sounds cool, but I don't speak Apple.

I've also thought of an app along these lines. You plug in the overhead to do the gig: gas, tolls, parking, time, etc., the money you have invested in your equipment, the time and effort to put the band together and rehearse, other miscellaneous expenses, and the payment to the band, then hit the button that says "How much I'm making" and within a few seconds you get the accurate response:

"Not enough"

hehehehe

Good luck with your app, Jazzy, but, alas, I'm an Android kind of guy.

Bill, tgo

Great news, yesterday the app got final approval from Apple. Not bad for my first iPhone app. There is a 24 hr window for it to be listed on the site so I guess it will be available in the morning when I wake.
I've made some more enhancements since I submitted it for approval last week so there will be an update shortly.
Thanks for giving testing it out Rusty and I hope you like the new screens as Mica sent me a great photo of your bass for me to use as the background to the app. :-)
