Just a quick observation. Like many of you I've played Alembic basses for several years now and also have a few other brands I enjoy. And like anything as I've grown use to playing my Alembics I've started taking them for granted. Well a few weekends ago a friend who just purchased some new recording gear decided to come to one of my gigs and record it. (Very nice digital equipment!) Well a day ago he gave me 3 disks for the 3 sets we played. when i listened to them I was blown away by the sound of my SC Standard through my ampeg rig. Especially when i was thumb popping and slapping. What a beautiful FULL punchy sound! I've heard recordings of me playing Fender, Music Man and Warwick basses and they sounded good but the Alembic just jumped out of the mix and made me sound much better than I thought i could. Soooooooo I've gained a renewed appreciation for my Alembics ... now the only problem is the desire for another one! :-) I bet many of you have similar stories and also suffer from GAS!

The drummer I play with always asks me to play the Alembic (as though he needs to). The DRUMMER! He loves that instrument.
