Hey guys, Has anyone had any experience with Bergantino cabs? I was thinking about the CN-212. http://bergantino.com/product/cn212-loudspeaker/ Curious what neo speakers were in them. Just throwing it out there with I crew I trust! Pete | ||

I've owned a HT-112 for about 15 years or so and love it. For 5-string electric it works great in tandom with my BagEnd single 15. Where the Bergantino 12 really shines for me is with upright. The HT-112 is the old "heavy" design (it weighs in at about 48 lbs). I would trust Bergantino if they say that the neo loaded cabs have the same tone. I really like the tone. I remember the dealer telling me he asked Bergantino what made his cabs that much better. The reply, as I recall, was, "I got the tweeter RIGHT." FWIW C-Ya..............wayne | ||

I don't know anything about Bergantino cabinets, but I suggest you check out AccuGroove also before you buy. http://www.accugroovellc.com/#!basskeyboards/c1d11 I have the El Whappo & Wedgie & they are the most amazing sounding cabinets I have ever used. I thought my Series II Europa sounded good through my Eden boxes, but the AccuGrooves blow them away! I could never quite get the tone I had in my head until I got my AccuGroves. They have tons of bottom & crystal clear highs, & you can get any sound you want out of them. They are very lightweight too, the El Whappo is a 4 way with 15/12/6/& dual tweeter, & it only weighs 58 pounds. The Wedgie is a 3 way with 12/6/dual tweeter & only weighs 29 pounds. It is more than adequate for any club gig & cuts through the stage volume with 2 guitars & acoustic drums easily. I will never buy another cabinet. | ||

I have owned one for about a year and love it. It is tight and has great mid presence and a smooth high end. I live a few miles from Jim Bergantino's shop and was playing regularly on his development floor with a guy who works in the same building. I got to use a few different Bergantino cabs while I was there, including the CN112, CN212, AE212, and some heavy 410 beast. No doubt that a stack of 410s would have been the choice if I were joining Black Sabbath. The AE212 might have sounded a little less articulate than the CN212 if you were looking for a vintage warm tone with easy transport. The CN cabinets provide great note definition as well as a very smooth and musical response across the spectrum. One day, I brought the Schroeder cabinet that I had been gigging for the previous several years and did an A/B with the CN212. No contest. My cabinet, that had been getting positive reviews from listeners for years, sounded like mud by comparison. Yeah, they're over $1000 for just a cabinet, but I'm very happy I paid the price. I think Jim said something about getting the speakers from Italy. I don't know the details, but you should be able to call or email him and get an answer to any questions you might have. I recommend the cabinet, and the cover fits well in a way that doesn't have you fighting to get it on and off when you want to. -bob | ||

I wound up trading cabinet I had listed for a Berg HD-212. I had no intention of moving to Bergantino, but the other cab was simply in my storage unit and had been listed for sale for a long time so I thought, "Why not try something new?" I am glad I did. This quickly became my favorite cabinet. So far it's come closest to the "sound that I hear in my head" The HD-212 is heavy ~ 79 lbs, because it's loaded with two non-neo speakers with 80 oz magnets. But it's a great cab. It definitely has a low-mid presence that is very musical. I believe the CN-212 is the lower-weight neo evolution of the cabinet I now own. If I could have the tone I am now getting with the lighter weight of neodymium, I would do it in a second. But the HD-212 cabinet (+plus a nice folding dolly) is doing everything I need at the moment. My primary application is blues, rock, folk-rock, & pop. I could see that the HD-212 might not be a great choice if you're after super-trebley slap tone. I use the Berg cab at a blues jam I host (with a Genz-Benz ShuttleMax 12.0). It sees lots of different basses and sounds great with all of them. Bergantino gets a huge thumbs up in my book. | ||

No experience with the CN-212, but I have an older ported 2x10 with an adjustable tweeter that I'm fond of. Big sound in a small box and top-notch craftsmanship. Sounds particularly good with my SWR 750X. | ||

I love my cn-212! It's got great tone and by itself will fill a small to medium size club no problem. I do pair mine with a berg 15 as well for larger venues. The large full tone out of the cn-212 is hard to believe. | ||

Does anyone know much about the Bergantino HT112? There's one for sale locally for $379, looks to be in decent shape, just wondering if that's a good price. | ||

Sounds like a typical price. Other than that they are pricey, I can't remember hearing too many negatives about any Bergantino cabinet. I would look on TalkBass a little for comments on the cab and possible information on previous sales. | ||
