My sweet kitty Scooter was not well and i was supposed to have put her down today.
i know there are a lot of pet lovers on the site........
as she sat in my lap wednesday night i asked god to take her and not make me do what is the worst thing a pet owner has to do.
When i arrived home after gigging with my friends last night..... she had passed peacefully in her sleep.,,, and while i hurt badly.... i am at peace that god answered my prayer.....

i took the lead on black peter last night which i never have done before and dedicated it to her....my buddies dug in and it was without a doubt the best version we have ever done and i nailed it but good...
rest in peace my dear scooter i will miss you forever and will see you again......

Jeff:

Sorry about your kitty. At least Scooter is now romping in the great litter box in the sky. How old was she? So your gigging again? Is this the band that broke up just after you returned from the West Coast or a new one? And your lead on Black Peter - vocal or lead bass?

black peter..... both......is there anything else but lead bass? my lead guitar backed away and we skipped the solo last night,,,,,,,soulful would be the word i guess...

my regular friday night get together. am in one band- not gigging yet and auditioning for a second. also hitting the open mic nights
see my post in a thread about people being afraid of alembics,.
treating the friday night headphone boys to a night at ultrasound next saturday night

Sorry to hear about your buddy Scooter. Better to go peacefully than to suffer. My condolences.

Flax,

Sorry to hear about your kitty. Maybe Scooter is lying in a sunny spot on a couch somewhere in the great beyond with Hobbes (a faithful member of the Ford family for 17 years)..

Jeff,

I have a strong feeling that Scooter is now romping with my Natasha. I'm glad that she went peacefully. My condolences to you.

its too early for names on basses. the plan was for the tribute bass to be named scarlet on the 24th fret, especially after the wood i picked when i visited alembic.
so for now- my plan is for a cat inlay somewhere- a la cats under the stars logo fomr the jerry album and maybe ditching the scarlet inlay altogether.
but thank you for the suggestions

Flax:

Ck out Jerry's website. They have a new take of the CUTS album cover logo with wings you might be interested in. It's under the "t-shirts" section:

Jeff,
The cat inlay would be awesome. What a tribute. Our dogs are more children than pets. I can only imagine the hurt. I'm sorry for the loss but happy for you that your prayer of a peaceful end to this phase of life was answered.

Flax:

She seems like a real sweetie of a Calico!

I miss my four cats (lost in the divorce, and most likely, the majority deceased), and I just got done watching my buddy and his wife's three kitties while he was in Italia for two weeks. Watching Angel, Trouble and Mr. Julie?!!! (Don't ask, my girlfriend Julie has a hard time with that one as well, LOL!) was fun and even the schitzo cat (Trouble, go figure, LOL!) bonded with me by the end of my stay. It's easy to forget how much unsolicited and inconditional love you get from pets, especially kitties. While I didn't miss scooping litter boxes and dealing with canned cat food and shredded personal belongings, I already miss the companionship I got from his cats, and it made me think fondly of my former cats (especially my fave, "Guiness": a 'black and tan' Agouti American Shorthair. Unfortunately, the ex and I are not on speaking terms, so I have no idea of the dispensation of the cats. Real bummer, but while I miss the cats, I don't miss her, LOL!

I think that says it all. Jeff, you already know how I feel. Take care....
