I was in Edinburgh on Saturday cruisin' the used vinyl shops and came across some interesting LPs. All mint condition original pressings(so I've been led to believe anyway), first up was Stanley Clarke - Rocks, Pebbles and sand - sounds like a precurser to his later 'Find out' album. Some pop songs with a 'rock' feel - very nice. Next came Brand X 'do they bite?' - the only album missing from my collection - I've long been a fan of percy jones and used to drool over the WAL basses in my local guitar shop (long before I discovered Alembic). It also features John Giblin whose work with Kate Bush is worth a listen.
I also came aaway with a fine copy of workingmans Dead and the jewel in the crown, Jerrys Solo recording 'Reflections' which features all of the early 70's dead line up except Pigpen. This is an album I hadn't ever heard so I was pleasantly surprised to find it wasn't just a 'Dead' album released under Jerrys name. The music has a much more 'country' feel and is a must for any jerry fans.
All in all, a very successful day out and only cost me £6 each.

Very cool Graeme- I too am a vinyl junkie- are you a "Linnie" as well? Linn turntables and Alembic basses IMHO belong together, mine even share a room. Michael (Flame Koa Essence)

'Fraid not Michael. My turntable is an early Elite Rock with the much sought after Excalibur tonearm - they went on to become Townshend. The latest rock anniversary retails at £20,000 - way beyond anything I'd ever consider for a turntable - I could get a custom built series II for that ;-)
I've a pair of living voice Auditorium speakers though - very nice in a warm cherry veneer. Somewhere down this thread. http://alembic.com/club/messages/449/13728.html?1100040898 there's a photo of my set up.

Thanks Graeme- I had forgotten that thread, I did see your rig before. I need to get off my lazy butt and post a few pictures one of these days. Vinyl rules at my house. Michael (Flame Koa Essence)
