I would love to get a job at alembic so that I could learn to perfect my skills at guitar making and also be able to scan guitars' parts as they are being assembled so that the shapes that the masters have done could be replicated through the use of cnc. I am not talking about PRS style production but having the cad images to modify for the purposes of making new shapes. That way when there is one really bad ass shape for a neck heel, or some shaping on a custom, they could be tried on other models. Think of a hollow body through neck further or skylark, but with a hollow neck like the bass that was shown in another section. you could even do something like the PRS HBII with the sides and back being glued together and then hollowed and then the top being done seperately and glued on. This means that you could have a hollow hippie sandwich guitar...which will get that weight down. But I guess that I am just dreaming. |

I can relate.. recently seperated from a bad marriage, and looking at the whole world in a new way.. and I think "I wanna go to California and build basses!". I think I'm going to need to take baby steps first, and buy my first Alembic... man, can't wait till the house sells. --J |
