Very sad to hear, so young. Warm wishes for family and friends in a most difficult time. |

Sad news. Will add ¨Plush¨on my next setlist, both as a reminder of a time when I played it almost on a daily basis in every bar, and as a homage. |

God Rest this poor soul. One more preventable death, and once more the proof of the ultimate lie and dead end of drugs and alcohol, poor treatment, inadequate recovery, and the peer pressure that drives it all. One more notch on the Devil's gun. I've always said that IF I could find JUST ONE cat that really was faster, cooler, sexier, etc., by doing whatever menu of drink and drug, I'd have given just about anything to find out what it was. 30 years' later around this mess and all I've found is an endless collection of the famous, nearly famous, and locals who died, are on their fifth divorce and third rehab, 4th DUI, and on and on. Oh to be as famous and successful as Elvis, Michael, Jerry, and Whitney ! It's why I love music and utterly, profoundly hate the music business. Joey |

Well stated Joey, there is no glory in taking your talent and wasting it and your own life with overindulgence. Let's not forget the collateral damage caused by unnecessary deaths caused by addiction. Unfortunately, the Gov't will find more ways to tax these items, thus there is no real national urgency to provide assistance on a long term basis to help those afflicted, regardless of how they become hooked. If 30% of marijuana users become psychologically addicted, where is their help going to come from? |

Scott's death had a profound effect on me. I saw them 4-5 times back in the 90's and I met the guy in 2000. He was the quintessential rock star and lived the life. He did it to himself, but it still sucks to see him go. |

Not a huge fan of STP but Scott had a great and unique voice and it is always sad to see anyone succumb to their demons. RIP. If 30% of marijuana users become psychologically addicted they are still not going to die from getting high. Legal prescription drug addiction, overdose and subsequent use of heroin when their scripts run out is one of the biggest problems people who don't live a rock star lifestyle face. It has reached epidemic proportions in the USA while big pharma is still raking in huge profits. But, I agree that in a rich country like ours treatment should be easy to come by for those that want or need it and that is not always the case. |
