No New Year's gig this year, but I'm going to crank up the Bass Rig of Mass Destruction at midnight, plug up my Alembic, and play a few bars of Auld Lang Syne.

Happy and prosperous 2016 to all.

I have a Swing of Pearls gig at St. John's on the lake in Milwaukee.
It's my farewell gig with them as we are moving to a farm on top of Irma Hill.

I love the director of that band and have many fond memories of fun shows with them.

Not sure what my next musical chapter will be as all of my old musical connections will be 3 hours away.

A very healthy, happy, and musical New Year to all my Alembic sisters and brothers. I'll be sitting in with Wolf's, (Sonicus), band at a party tonight. No better way to bring in the New Year than jammin'!

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL ! Looking forward to having Bill play with us at a party tonight !

Pauldo , All the best to you at the " Farm" . There is a " Family Farm " in my Family that I always love to visit in the Mid West as well . A very special feeling that I always get there in the big open fields with the huge "Commercial Farm" equipment.

Happy New Year to all my Alembic brothers & sisters! I pray 2016 brings you many blessings & health & happiness for you & yours!

My band has a gig tonight at our favorite venue which traditionally has a band called Rat Ranch on New Years Eve. They are the top band in town, so we were honored to get the call to play in their place!

If you are gigging or going out tonight be safe!

"Rang in" the new year trying to get some sleep in a fold-out hospital "bed"; She had a shoulder replacement Dec 30. Hey, the rest of the year's got to get better, eh?

Peter (Who's trying not to feel like a heel for bailing on a 3rd night in Her room to get some actual rest, as She comes home tomorrow)

Just after I posted, my son called from AK to tell me she had fallen (she tried to call me & hit his number by mistake - the nurse didn't think it warranted a call!! Avoid Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb, IL!); no damage, as it turns out, but I spent a 3rd night there. We're home now, and she seems to be doing well.

Glad your wife is home recuperating, Peter. Very low key New Year's here... we're all in the recuperating state as well. On Wednesday I got hit hard with a bad cold (thanks to my disease vector 8-year old) and limped along a half day at work on Thursday. Spent New Year's Even on the couch with my favorite blankie and a hot toddie!

Mom is doing well enough that she's making the soup for me now. We've got her slated for mini work days starting on Monday and see how we go from there.

When you start the new year sick it can only go up from there!

Well Mica aren't we spoiled! :-) Mother is convalescing yet still manages to make you soup.

I hear you on the disease vector. Rene manages to ward off whatever the disease du jour is at her school yet it manages to make its way home to me.

Hope you start feeling better and good to hear Mom is up and about.

Thanks, Bill - I'd love to, but a while back another medical blunder actually put her into the hospital for a month, and I inquired; it seems that without permanant damage there's no big payday, and thus no interest from the less altruistic end of your profession.
Thanks for the thoughts, all; she's doing fairly well.

Mmmmmminestrone soup...hopefully that did the job for you, Mica and you are on the mend.

Same wishes extended to Susan and to anyone else who is not quite 100% right now - including my wife who is also getting over a flu / sinus thing.

Fortunately, she was not too ill to travel to Santa Rosa with me where we rang in the new year by visiting some of our favorite wineries and eateries and, most important, some dear friends who just happen to make the world's finest basses and guitars.

Thanks again for the hospitality, Mica and I now believe in the medicinal properties of great food & wine and exposure to high-quality sawdust - !

Here's hoping that the remainder of 2016 is "grate" for everyone!

Happy new year to all from Scotland, traditionally the home of massive Hogmanay blowouts. Not for me though - just about recovered from a particularly nasty Norovirus that has hit Scotland quite badly. The whole family has been sick at some point since Christmas. As Mica says, it can only get better from here.
