I'm up earlier than usual this morning, and saw in the news that he had died. Still letting that sink in.

As I wake up this morning battling the flu the news of Bowie passing into the other dimension hit me hard.

RIP David Bowie.

You thrilled me and millions of others with your music.

Oh man... This one hurts a lot. I couldn't possibly describe the importance of his musical legacy for me. Could we still be heroes, just for one day?

R.I.P. David Bowie. A true mastermind.

Of course, Bowie's long time music director Carlos Alomar proudly played his Alembic guitar for many years.

I recently watched a documentary on Bowie, and during a scene Carlos quickly put together all the parts for "Fame" and I was struck by the creativity of putting all those parts together to create the riff. An amazing collaboration.

RIP David Bowie.

Big loss. I loved Bowie. Saw him with the Alembic in '83 on the Serious Moonlight tour. They were great. Carlos was great, too.

One of the things I always liked about Bowie is he left room for the musicians in the band to play when in concert. Something you don't see with many star acts.

I thought this is very fitting:

Bowie reworded it for him and did the arrangement. He said it was his favorite version.

The stars look very different today.

Here's David Bowe "Heroes"
With good shots of Carlos Alomar's Alembic Series 1 and Adrian Belew.
He will be missed.
Peace
