It's nice, I guess, but this new Flash version of their site is painfully slow.

Tom: I agree...the ole' look was nothin' to write home about, but it loaded quick. The new look is decidedly "Madison Ave", but is slower than sh*t!

Flax: As a B'day gift, I got "Stairway to Heaven : The Final Resting Places of Rock's Legends", which ignores Pig and Keith, but states that Jerry was cremated and his ashes were strewn over the Ganges River in India by Weir and Debra Koons-Garcia, while Weir played a Jerry tune on an acoustic. For all the dough GD Inc. is raking in, they could buy him a solid gold mausoleum and all of Golden Gate Park to put it in! As far as I know, there's no (official) permanent marker for him anywhere.

Even Hendrix's greedy estate built a huge mausoleum and tribute to him in Seattle, and it's public accessible.

Yeah, I was too lazy to walk over to my book and find the name of the tune while I was writing, LOL!

While Jerry can't quite roll over in his grave, at least no one can try to steal the corpse a la Jim Morrison, LOL!

One thing I like about the new site is the picture archive. There's a great one of Phil looking up at the wall of sound erected behind the musicians for the first time at the Boston Music Hall in 1973. He's got a vibe of "Are you sure that's gonna work????" There's also a nice shot of the whole rig there. It was a great place to see the Dead (as well as others who played there) although I was too young to see those shows. 3 years later they had a more conventional system.

Agreed Edwin - there is a lot of interesting stuff in their archive database - cool photos, posters, etc. It's a little awkward to have to scroll images in the little window space so you can see all of it, but I've enjoyed browsing - albeit slowly.
