Last weekend fellow club member Keith Humphrey jouneyed up to the mountains for a visit. He brought a couple of his Alembics with him and we had a great time playing and talking about the basses. Keith's a really good player and was showing me some Stanley and Jaco stuff. And the two basses he brought are beautiful! The next day I was wishing I had spent more time with each. Just before leaving, Keith pulled out a camera and took some pics. He emailed the pics to me a few days ago and we figured you guys might want to see 'em <g>.

Cool pictures!!

I really like the fretless Zebrawood c-t-c Series-body Europa. It's cool to see this shape with different appointments than the usual SI/II electronics layout. Always imagined a maple Point with just one FatBoy in the sweet spot.

Thanks Joey! Actually, technically, it's an Orion! It's a set neck.

I still don't like spalted (really, I'm sure of it...) but that fretless looks awfully nice to me. And for some reason, my eye is also drawn to the blue and green instrument cables.

But more than anything, I think the last photo of Dave should be cross-referenced from the posting guidelines!

Bob; that Spalted fretless is beautiful in person. As is often said around here, it is so much nicer in person than in the pics. The other bass that Keith brought, the Brown Bass lying on the couch, is also gorgeous. I can now certainly see why people love Brown Basses so much!
