That is indeed the WNW view from Alembic of Taylor Mountain, which seperates Santa Rosa from the Sonoma Valley wine growing region. This was a rare sighting of an Alembird out getting some exercise.

And I always thought that 'body wings' were those pieces of wood attached to either side of the neck...

Shouldn't that rather happen in a WINE DRINKING REGION?

I've heard that certain types of fungal tea can produce this type of effect.

Maybe it was a shroom growing region, like this:

Well I'm feeling much better now . I am going down to Guitar Center and buy a Fender and an SVT . Muller and Scully are driving me. The black helicopter took me out to Dreamland , and Ed Roman was there and told me I could not be in The New World Order without one. I'm feeling much better . Fox, I want one with real high action . Noiseless pickups would be nice, am I the only one that hears this buzzing noise . . .

It's all clear now.

Clear as an azure sky of deepest summer.

Cue Beethoven's Ninth.

Extra points if you get the reference.

I saw it...it was like a bird of rarest-spun heaven metal or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now...

Smokin Dave, send me an e-mail and I'll send a larger wallpaper-worthy version with the reply.

Joey (bPb), I used to hear buzzing, but it went away when I followed your setup guide. Thanks!

Brad:

Want to meet down at the milkbar? Me, Alex, and a few droogs thought we'd stop by after a bit of the old ultra violence with Billy Boy and his yarbles (if he has any yarbles). Unless, of course, we decide to go HOME. I thought we could jam, perhaps play "Singin' in the Rain"? Do I get the extra points?

This will be my second visit. I'm bringing a digital camera, so I'm excited about getting to take some photos.

The "Rory tribute" is just how I started referring to my in-progress 6-string (bass) balance-K, since I basically copied Rory's bass (you can compare his and mine in the factory to customer section).

I guess it's a bit of a post-modern copy, since I did change a couple of things (bookmatch to center top, carved omega crown headstock, ebony laminates, altered tailpiece, SII electronics, and inlay (okay, that's more than a couple of things))

For those who are attempting to get senior management approval (a.k.a. "The Colonel" in my house :-)) for a trip to Alembic, just remember that Alembic is smack dab in the middle of the wine country, and there is a lot of great scenery and shopping (boutique clothing/furniture/etc.), as well as the wineries (of course), and some great spas and bed and breakfasts.

Brad:

Now I get it. Rory brought his basses to my studio when he lent me a DS-5. Very beautiful instruments. Well chosen inspiration.

Wine growing seems to go well with building basses:
