Anyone had a chance to hear the new line of Carvin amps and Neo cabs? I am very curious about the two twelve combo. Mike |

Mike, I cannot speak for the BRX line but I can say I have been unhappy with the Redline amp I have. It has a lousy compressor that is always on and causes a farty sound unless you dial up the compression level. I also found that it is not the most reliable. After I started taking it to various engagements I started having problems caused by solder joints cracking. I also found that the main amplifier board and fan were not mounted correctly. This resulted in a broken fan shroud and the board being held in place with 1 screw and double sticky tape. I also have an RL210T. This was delivered with speakers that had basket deformations (approx 1" from peak to valley). Carvin did send me new speakers and eventually agreed to send me a new fan and an engineering change to mount the board better. However it does not say much to me about their overall quality. I am not hard on equipment so the problems are not the results of abuse. I now use the amp strictly for practicing at home. For everything else I use an Eden Navigator and QSC PLX3002 with various speaker setups. One last thing to consider is Carvin equipment has a low resale value. If you decide you do not like it after a couple of months you will be lucky to get half the original price paid. That said I do have a good opinion of Carvin basses. They play well and are well contructed. They are no Alembic but are a very good instrument for the price paid. Keith |

That's pretty much what I know of them also. Basses great for the money, amps no. I was wondering if they have made improvements to the BRX line. Mike |
