If you like Cream/Blind Faith and want to see an amazingly talented band go see Kofi Baker (Ginger Baker's son) with Armando Cepeda on bass and vocals and Cameron Morgan on guitar and vocals. The vocals are very rich and powerful. Armando is rock solid. Cameron Morgan is outrageous. Kofi is very good, too. Well worth a night out. Based in LA but on tour. Good opening act, too [Denver's Juba Juba (Dead tribute with club member laytonco)]. Rich |

Thanks for the tip Rich, that sounds good. I'll look out for him. Didn't Ginger raise Polo ponies in Denver or some such venture? Sam |

I saw them in Denver (with Random Traveler opening. Very cool, the bassist is also the drummer and plays both at the same time. 6 string fretless bass and a full drum kit:http://www.myspace.com/randomtraveler, but I digress) and they were great! They really brought back the vibe. Edwin |

Sam, Ginger raised horses in Elizabeth or Parker, CO (close to Denver). A few years ago he was deported; I don't know exactly why, but the whole scene was pretty strange. I think he settled in Spain. I'm pretty sketchy on the details. Someone speak up and fill in the gaps. Edwin, I'm thinking that you must be thinking of another band. Kofi is the drummer. Armando, the bassist played a jazz and a P-bass, both fretted 4-strings. I still can't get over how amazingly good the guitarist, Cameron, was. Rich |

Rich; I made the same mistake. Go back and reread Edwin's post and pay attention to the parentheses. |

You are right about Kofi, Armando (great singer as well as bassist), and Cameron and yes, I did record them as well. I'd like to hear them now that they've got a few more gigs under their belts. It's not that it was shabby, it's just that things like that only get better with time. Edwin |
