...Because thanks to their Genesis tribute shows which are miticulously copied right down to the looks and instruments from the real band. Interrest in the music of Genesis are at an all time high. All members and former members of Genesis have attended shows of the Musical box.

The Musical Box can be called the only tribute band of which the members of the band they pay tribute to played with them on stage. Steve Hackett played a show with them and Phil Collins played the full version of "Supper's ready" with them proving that he still is a bona fide virtuoso on drums.

I guess with all that renewed interrest in their music, it was just a matter of time before the members of Genesis would go "Blimey, why don't we do something like this ourselves?" And so rumors of a reunion tour started around this time last year. Those rumors were reinforced by Peter Gabriel beginning to perform Genesis songs on his solo tours.

BUT almost a year after the first rumors began to spread, the band themselves made it official: Genesis would indeed be touring again in 2007. The dissappointing thing for many hardcore fans is that they will tour in the "And then there were Three" line up Without Steve Hackett and Peter Gabriel.

BUT even more spectacullar is that Phil Collins already hinted that eventually in the VERY near future, Gabriel and Hackett WILL be back in the fold. And that they will play "The Lamb lies down on Broadway"

And we all have to thank that little band from Canada who wanted to show the new kids what they missed out on...

Okay, now I'm off to buy tickets in advance!

Although I felt they suffered a loss of inventiveness after Gabriel left, Genesis managed to remain sucessfull regardless of it's line up, truly blessed with talent. definately a "flick your Bic" occasion.

Rael, poor kid. Didn't know what he was in for. Kukoo cacoon, have I come to, too soon for you?
