I just bought an Elan and noticed that the P-style neck pickup is much quieter than the J-style bridge pickup when the balance is set to center. 1) Is this normal? 2) Can this be adjusted electronically other than the balance knob? 3) I noticed two pots on the circuit board inside, are they related to this? What do they do? Thanks team. |

Funny, the complaint with a PJ setup is usually the opposite of what you're describing. You already found the solution: the two trimpots on the circuit board are indeed the individual pickup gain pots that allow you to compensate for these differences. Other than that, there does seem to be a slight drop in volume when the panpot is close to center. |

There are some good post from Mica dealing with this in the FAQ section. The best is the one Mica posted for me when I had the same problem. Chuck |
