A Middle Island man police pulled over for a traffic infraction in East Patchogue Wednesday was driving around with a special delivery in the trunk -- 20 pounds of marijuana stuffed in a FedEx package, Suffolk detectives said.

Police stopped Jerome Eleazer, 30, of 127 Gray Ave., at about 11:45 a.m. Wednesday on Taylor Avenue after he failed to signal while turning. When detectives approached his 2001 Toyota, they smelled pot.

Sounds more like the sweet smell of defeat, he did get caught after all. I am sure we'll all sleep safer tonight knowing that this terrible menace has been dealt with. I can only hope the cops didn't spare the baton when they were beating the guy.

1. Seal-a-meal.

2. NEVER use Fedex. I have heard they have a police substation at their main facility in Tennessee where ALL packages go and are then routed to their final destination.

Or, to put it another way, Fedex has indirectly helped to pay for my Alembics.

I'd sooner join a Twisted Sister tribute band than be a persecutor! Bite your tongue!

Bill,

Is it safe to say "you're not gonna take it" (the position in the Twisted Sister tribute band)?

We have a few very boneheaded DAs and cops around here. They took the legal med marijuana plants away from a local guy. They did return it, though (3 weeks and no water later). There was a man killed in a car wreck caused by a guy who was high on meth. He was charged with misdemeanor careless driving. After 11 months and some heavy public pressure the DA is considering stiffer charges. The local police captain's sister (who was the jail food service manager) was busted for stealing $10k - $12k from the inmates' cash accounts. She got 3 months in jail (not the jail she stole the money from). After the Rainbow Family gathering was over a few months ago, a couple of guys were busted digging through a restaurant's dumpster, charged with burglary, and were sentenced to 6 months in jail. Public pressure made them reduce it to time served (7 or 8 weeks).
We have a Kiwanis club satire show each year and we lean hard on these idiots. This year will include a song:

(to the tune of "These are a few of my favorite things")

We have an outrageous District Attorney and
We need to send her on a one-way journey.
She giggles with glee when she gets to indict
A seventh grader who gets in a fight. (She actually did this to a kid who finally hit a bully back).

When whacked out meth heads get behind the wheel
She just can't stand seeing them go to jail.
And jailers who rip off ten thousand in cash ... get less
Jail time than hippies that pick through the trash.

I hope they can sleep at night. I don't think I could.
Rich
