Has anyone heard anything about Scott Walker's guitars? They are visually stunning instruments. Very Alembic-like in appearance. I'm toying with the idea of having one similar to this built. I though there was a post ages ago with a picture of one of his guitars, but I can't seem to find it. Scott Walker Guitar |

I've never heard of them before but, they have a very nice quality look about them, slightly retro rather than modern. I love the ebony backs and the ebony neck laminate.I would imagine the sustain must be good on them. Can't tell if they are neck through or set neck instruments though. Jazzyvee |

Jonathan - I'm not sure I remember a thread referencing Scott Walker guitars here on the Alembic club, but, I believe the guitar from your link belongs to Steve Kimock. Here is a link to a thread on his discussion board with some photos and dialog about that guitar, among other stuff. Apparently Steve played it in 2006 when he hooked up with the Everyone Orchestra - a bunch of those performances are available on the archive. Peace Tom |

Tom, Thanks for the link. I know a couple of years back, there was a post of one of his guitars. It was simply a picture and the old "does anyone know who made this...is this an Alembic?" Regards, Jonathan |

From a picture from a link off the Kimock forum, it appears to me these guitars are set neck. I've never heard of them before. I wonder how new the company is, considering the web site seems to be in development. Jonathan, are you perhaps thinking of the picture and discussion that eventually revealed the guitar to be by Michael Dolan? Bill, tgo |

The Scott Walker Guitars are being sold at a store in Santa Cruz called Sylvan Music. They have a birds eye maple one and a killer walnut one and a guy at the store told me they're expecting a quilted maple one in a week or two. AWESOME GUITARS! They played like a dream. |

I put my order in with Scott last week. He seems like a great guy. I bought my first Alembic sight unseen and that turned out really well. I'm expecting the same with SWG. |

Congrats Jonathan. So, what are you getting? I'll be looking forward to a review once you get it. Did he give you any idea about ETA? Bill, tgo |

Bill, ETA is 3-4 months! I'm not starting the project until May. I'll post more as it gets going. |
