Some of you may have heard about the cancer research project that is currently being run by United Devices in conjunction with IBM and Intel. I've had this project running now since 01 May 2001. I thought that as I'm soon to own my first Alembic, it might be a good idea to form an Alembic team, as there currently isn't one.

Rather than me writing about the project, I invite you to visit this link http://www.grid.org/projects/cancer/ to learn more about the ideas behind the projects. It's all free and apart from the extra and negligible amount of electricity your PC will use and the odd phone call (if applicable to you - depends how you connect to the net) to the internet to return results, there is no cost. There are no catches and no hidden extras.

I've been a part of all of this because I feel like it's a chance to give something back, even if it is in a small way.

For those of you who want to join 'The Alembic Team' I have created, please follow this link:-

Sometimes they run faster than that. Sometimes they don't!! :-)

Come on folks - who else is going to join us, it's for a good cause. Mica - do you fancy taking a lead with this and encouraging a few people to join?

I'm going to take this opportunity to bump this back up to the top. Come on folks, we've currently got five members including myself. We can do better than this can't we?

I'm on at work now, where cookies are a problem. Will join as soon as I get home. This is a good use of spare resources. Thanks for turning us on to this.

I've joined. It's a good cause and definitely makes for a fascinating screen saver...
Seriously, though I'm new to the club, it is a good use for just a little of the attention and energy members show on line every day.
