In the new issue of Bass Player there is a really good interview with James Genus who plays bass in the Saturday Night Live band. He mentions that he sits on a Euphonic Audio Rumble Seat. They run the bass and kick drum into it so he can feel it.
Has anyone here used a Rumble Seat? It sounds really interesting.
Thanks,
Rich

Here is what I use when I have no amp or subs under my feet. http://www.thebuttkicker.com/prosound_bass%20players%20&%20drummers.html

I don't use it in Church because I've got 5000 Watts of EAW subwoofers under my feet. But for gigs where I'm on an In Ear Monitor and no way to feel the bass, this does it. I once did an entire gig standing on this thing with no amp and no monitors. You know it if you play the wrong note.

I also sell these.

The other guitar player in my band works crew for several big time venues. He's told me that many pro drummers use such a beast.

I'm pretty sure Earl Falconer of UB40 has a subwoofer built into a platform that he stands on on stage.

Thanks, everyone for the info. I always can hear the drummer at gigs so I don't need one. It just sounded like a very cool idea.

Well, no, my butt has never felt a drummer. I suppose it would be great to really feel the thump of the kick drum. I know that the full body whack of bass guitar live on stage was what attracted me to it in the first place.
