Yes, when playoff time draws near we sports fans in Tennessee turn our full focus onto NHL hockey action. Our Preds seem to be doing OK so far, it seems.
'Apparently our team is getting something of a bad boy rep. around the league. (Also we fans here are being called by some as classless and toothless. ) Come on now, we have class!
Here's what has sprouted the latest Tenn., sporting controversy to spread across SportLand USA and Canada....
AP:'The NHL suspended Nashville Predators winger Jordin Tootoo five games for punching Dallas Stars defenseman Stephane Robidas in the face. Robidas was knocked unconscious on the play late in the third period Saturday night in a 3-2 win by the Predators in Nashville.

True, It has been hard to concentrate on hockey with Tenn. having three teams in the men's NCAA Sweet 16...UT, Memphis and Vandy....the women's teams too in the hunt, UT, Vandy.
At least, for now, PacMan isn't our main topic of sports news.

Ah, and baseball season is right around the corner. Spring!

yeah the preds are doing great, and they have forsberg! i bet on them the other night ,and they beat dallas. but i needed kariya to get more point than modano. mikey got two goals. at least you guys one. good luck with everything, i'm an oilers fan, they had a great run last year to the final.
i would like to see nashville win it all. its good for hockey down there and thats the most important thing since my team is out of the playoffs. even when carolina beat my team last year i was still a bit happy that the game is growing down south!

go preds!! whip red wing ass ( i hate em),and live across from detroit, in windsor canada

Hey John. We are really proud of our team. It's good to know there are other fans around the league rooting for the Preds against some of the 'Big' guys. It is amazing to me that Madano 'skated' through the incident with no suspension. Even he said he should have gotten a few games off for hitting TooToo with his stick. Everyone in the media has been saying how classless Nashville (Tenn.) fans are in that we did not bow down to Madano when he got the North American scoring record here the other night. He had just been in a melee where he hit one of our players with a stick and he got nothing. Then he scored that goal. If we had stopped to pay homage to him the rabid fans in Nashville would have taken the place apart. anyway. when Tootoo comes back, his first game is with Dallas. Go Preds!

Well, all of the men's basketball teams from Tennessee are out of the March madness. Guess I'm now rooting for Florida.

The Lady Vols are still in the hunt.

Go Preds.

Oh, and
Go Defending World Champion St. Louis Cardinals
