Hi, all,

I just wondered if there is a chance for another TX gathering...

I spontaneously decided to visit TX within the next two weeks (probably May 30th through June 5th), perhaps even earlier, surely not very much later, and I would love to meet all of you in person. We "know" each other through this great forum, we have email conversations now and then... now that I am almost ready for my first intercontinental flight, I want to really enjoy my time over there, and with you guys and gals, I'm sure I will...

btw... There's a "Scottish gathering thread" around where four young man got together and just had fun drinking beer and talking Alembic... if that counts for the "new TX gathering" as well it's okay for me, cause I cannot take any of my babes with me, I'm afraid... too much luggage when I have to leave TX again. Just have a beer, or two, or three, or... and talking eye to eye, I would love that !

yours, Christian (on cloud nine)

I'll stay in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, if my mood does not take me anywhere else. Unfortunately, I will not be able to visit the mothership... that will be another challenge, maybe next year.

How is your recovery going ? I had a severe car crash in March, also caused by a drunken fool (assassin, rather), and my wife Meike escaped a frontal assault yesterday... This year is just crazy, but good thing is that it comes to mind that there is no better time to fulfill your dreams than... NOW!

love to you and your beloved,

your Christian

I am doing much better now thanks Christian.

I live in the DFW area and so do most of the cats that were at the last DFW gathering. David and Jorge had the longest drives.

Let us know for sure of the dates and I bet we can get something going.
Weekend of May 30th is real close so let us know soon.

John said he's in, I'm up for it and I'see if I can twist Mike's arm a little (who happens to have a great drummer, hint hint Pete).

Ready to jam,
Olie

Sorry, I started typing too quickly and I didn't read the last part of your post. It sure would be nice to get together again though.

Hi, Jorge,

sure it would be great if Peggy could accompany the trip. It would not be fair to Bridget and Minnie, though ;-)

I thought about travelling to California when Alembic celebrates the fortieth anniversary. That's when the gathering of all gatherings should take place IMHO, and I surely will bring every baby with me then.

A few minutes ago, I booked the tickets, arriving on May 30th in DFW in the evening, and leaving again on June 5th at noon time. Boy, I'm shivering with anticipation...

I'll be out of town until the 31st, back by that weekend. I'm up for anything. Please copy me on any planning that takes place. If nothing else, I'd like to meet up with you, Christian.

Olie, Pete's e-mail has changed, I'll send it to you privately. I'll let him know that something may be brewing.

Christian,

Do you have anything specific in mind that you want to do while you're here?

I'll send my phone contact information via private e-mail. My home e-mail address has changed, so you'll need to update the one you used last Fall, the one listed here is correct.

Anyone hear from Wayne. I'd love to play that fretless of his again, one sweet sweet bass.

Of course I've never played a dbl neck either but the kids aren't coming with you are they Christian?

No, they are not, Olie :-( ...unfortunately, but as mentioned before, the trip next week will not be my last.

When I got Peggy in December 2005, she was embedded in an aluminium flight case of incredible dimensions. I did not weight the case with bass included, but one can hardly carry this case for more than a quarter mile, it's just HEAVY. I wanted to have some kind of hardshell case made for her (and me), but did not manage yet.

Next time, I will probably plan my trip to the US, and not rush head over heels like I am doing now. Anyway, it's a lovely mission that I am faced with in DFW, and I will gladly be there to meet you all. it's just, I feel like a racing horse, but...

oh, I already said that... ;-)

WTH is Harry Hines ? some kind of steakhouse ? hey, I'm into a good steak and a few beers or more, ready to rrrrruuuummmmmbbblllleeee !

cheers, Christian

That's cool Christian. Sorry I'm going to miss this chance again, and get to meet you and all these nuts from my home state.
Olie, my cousin ran a Stop and Rob out there as part of his training working for their parent company. He was propositioned by the finest they had to offer and held up and gun point. He works for Panasonic now.

...LOL !

I seem to enjoying this trip more and more every minute, let alone the endless hours before...
