Stanley Clarke will be playing the Magic Bag in Ferndale (Detroit) MI on April 8th. I've been in touch with his manager and will likely have an opportunity to meet with him after the concert. Any questions you guys want me to ask?

Some of the questions I've already solicited...
* How did the slap duet with Les Claypool come about?
* What are SC's feelings on extended range basses and fretless electric basses?
* Why shortscale?
* Describe effects / cabinet setup

Fire away!

Peace,

James

Brother James,

the effects and the amp/cabintes set-up are fully described in the Bass-player interview (if I remember well).
I know one of the club-members was "beaten-up" by fellow-bassplayers on another bass site because he mentioned that the SC-sound was based on his Alembic. (I realised than that we have a peacefull board here).
So I wonder how he is into "brands"?
I also heard the story that his electric playing (right hand) was strongly influenced by playing upright (specifically the position of his right hand vesrus the neck)

Just my two cents.
Oh BTW ... have fun at the concert and enjoy the meeting!

Paul (the bad one)
