Bela Fleck and the Flecktones are coming to the Carolina Theatre in Durham, NC on Sept 26th. Tickets go on sale June 26th.

Looks like Victor Wooten will be returning solo on March 6, 2008.

Saw them in Glasgow in january. What a fantastic show. For all the virtuosity each individual displayed, they played immaculately as a band. Wooten's solo was stunning but he played the part of the Band's bass player perfectly.
it'll likely be another 5 or 5 years before they hit the UK again but it'll be worth the wait.

Graeme
p.s. it's worth hanging around the stage after the show. In Glasgow, they came out for a lengthy meet and greet, at least half an hour.

Graeme,
Thanks for the information. I've found a lot of the performers at the Carolina Theatre will hang out in the lobby and talk after the show. That's one of the reasons I like seeing shows there.

I've talked to the wife about going and she's up for it. Just need to wait for the tickets to go on sale. It is going to be a busy September.

For anyone who has never seen the Flecktones.

I've seen the Flecktones once, and I have the DVD; and I've seen Victor's family band once. I loved the Flecktones, and I especially love the DVD. I completely agree with Graeme, Bela's approach to music is quite wonderful, and Victor's virtuosity is an integral part of the whole. Victor's band is entertaining, and he's an amazing player, but it's not the same thing musically as the Flecktones. Personally, if you only see one, I recommend the Flecktones.
