Hi friends, Does anyone have experience with this ampie? This is a BAM210 modeling-Amp with 2x10" cast frame woofers from PEAVEY with 8 Different Amp's and 8 speakercabinets from all kind of TOP-brands wich can be combined to any combination. Standalone is 350 watts and with an extra cabinet below it changes to 500 watts. Very good 'all range' tone-control, speaker overload protection, Midi in/out, Input gain-control, adjustable pre/post DI, FX-loop, Full Extended footswitch with all functions, 8 usefull effects, very good compressor, headphone out, tweeter control knob and a tuner build in. 16 factory and 16 user presets wich can be stored! ... And a lot of hidden futures. Also Rollercasters and a carrier-grip on the back (wich will be better for my own back) ... I can buy this thing for 700 euro's! I read some heavy German tests (and also general tests) and it should be great, very near to the original choosen amp, fat low and stable as a rock .... Is it? I think I've get some GAS from this! grooveman..I have an old TNT115 which my son now uses nad apart from the speaker going bang(new speaker basket) it has been fine. I tried this in a shop with my MK signature..it is a good amp for the money, the amp sounds to me are just like pre sets, whether they sound like the original is another matter as the eventual sound you hear depends on so many variables. You could say it is a lesser version of an SWR Red as it looks slightly similar. It is a good amp for all uses and is portable which makes us long suffering back problems a must And I don't know what GAS is either, I thought it was a jean manufacturer that sponsors the Repsol Honda team for Nick Hayden & Dani Pedrosa |

Gotta love your way of thinking, Andy. You don't know what it means but you have to jump in there anyway. Excellent! I don't know about this particular amp but Peavey does make good stuff at reasonable prices. My first amp was a Peavey 15" combo. I can't remember the model name. Sam |

I wonder if I can use this thing just for the little gigs ... If I'ts possible to make a big range of sounds close to the originals it's OK for me! In those german test they've had all of the original amp's and cabinets beside this amp and tested everything possible. They said it was very, very near! Not exact ... but 'very, very close'. What's wrong with that? I heard a lot of top-amps with a bad adjusting ... p.s. I don't know if all of you USA-friends do know the germans, but they are famous for their quality and 'grundligkeit' wich means they are not testing for fun! A test there is a real test! And believe me, I should know because I live next to them in Holland! (about 20km from border) Even my daily shoppings are cheaper and more quality there! |

Thanks Bill! That's a nice website ... Not only for this but for all kind of stuff! Seems like it's a pretty good amp! There are some people out there who sold there whole (expencive) gear for this! I think I'm going to get this amp and try it out for a while! I always can sell it again if it's not worth! With a little luck I can do something with the price because I know this guy here needs money quick! I'm not afraid for that 'discontinued'. I had the same with my earlyer 'Trace Elliot GP12' while that whole compagny didn't exist anymore. And now it's back by Peavey! ('Joepie') If neccesary PEAVEY is still there and will always repair their own stuff. Their base is in England and that's not far from here with UPS! I hope I don't need it because of their reliability: Once I had a 'PEAVEY MARK IV' and I did 23 years without any problem! ... And the thing still is there with my cousin doing hardrock! btw; I also wouldn't sell my Alembic when the Alembic-compagny isn't there anymore! (Yaaaaaiiiick! That's hard to say!!!) About the GAS; in that way I've had the GAS everyday all my life! ... Specialy after a beans-diner! It seems to be healty and a 'must'! Ojah ... I'm not merried (anymore) so it's no longer a problem! Sinds that, I'm a very happy man and can have as much GAS as I want in both ways! ('Joepie' again!!!) (Message edited by grooveman on July 10, 2007) |
