Hey, Dallas Alembicians, I know that none of you know me from a stick in the mud, but I have a favor to ask. There's a Series II in Dallas that I'm looking to purchase, but the seller is insistent on local pickup only. Would any of you be willing to pick up this bass (if/when I buy it), and ship it to Ohio? I'd be willing to pay you for your trouble; I'm not sure how much, but that can be discussed if this actually goes down. It's hard to be sure from the photos, but it looks to me like someone put an Alembic logo over the hole where the pick up selector was originally. Cool! Bill, tgo | ||

Yes, the Omega tips are gone, but other than that, the bass appears to be in decent shape. Walnut/maple/mahogany/maple/walnut would be my guess on the sandwich, and the bass is the one on Craigslist. I'm still debating between this and a 1975 Series I that I've been eyeing for a while-the broken omega points are a concern of mine, but they don't look too bad from the pictures I've got. There is an Alembic logo over the PU selector. | ||

I'd love to send it back to the Mothership to get it restored, but I don't have the cash to do so, and the seller's conditions soured the deal for me. I have two other Series I's I'm looking at as of right now, both of which I am more comfortable with, so we'll see how that works out. Expect a thread in the intro forum in about two weeks. ;) |
