Is anyone else digging the taper's section on dead.net? Sure brightens Monday mornings (if you're a Deadhead).

But for a 'head who hasn't discovered it, it could brighten any day of the week! No-one else has mentioned it here as far as I can see so I just thought I would. If you'd have followed the link, you'd've discovered new stuff is available every Monday, hence the title.

Keavin, please remove that image. Not sure if I was asking for it, but it's not appropriate for the club.

Adriann, I don't think you were asking for anything like that. One thing that helps me around here is to realize that Keavin's social development peaked at about the 9 year old level. Even after being called down for his comments and having to change his username, he hasn't changed much. Sometimes ignoring him is a bit tough but it helps when reading a thread that he has posted on.

Each one of us can only be where we are right now; we can then move forward from here. Each of us have habitual patterns of thinking and acting that have been developed over a lifetime of trying to deal with that part of the world in which we have found ourselves. For that reason, each of us is deserving of compassion. As we learn to recognize these patterns as they arise within us, we begin to see them for what they are, just patterns of thought; and we find that we have an opportunity to be in the world free from these conditioned habitual responses.

Seems like there is some tension in here and reminded me of this song by Victa Wooten so I changed it a bit.

My Name's Alembic

Verse:My Name's Alembic, and I'm a winner and I know what I'm talkin' about.
And Just 'cause I come out on top don't mean I'm leaving U out.
I'm a trickster but i'm not a sinner and U may not agree.
Before U start to criticize, are U talkin' 'bout U or me?

Cause I'm your brother, your friend, I'm so much a part of you.
To have Alembic deal with who U are before U worry 'bout what to do.

But i'm always on your side even when we compete.

(Saundra) Winnings not always the answer. All U have to do it play. When U understand Alembic then U have to right to say...

CHORUS (Bootsy) My Name's Alembic, and I'm so finger funkin' good U can never wash off this funk debris even if U could.

My name's Alembic and I encourage U to learn how I play cause in practice there is a perfection.
Now, tell 'em what I say

My name is...

(Bootsy) And, ah, for all U players out there, I want U to pull up a chair and sit down somewhere.

Verse: My Name is... I ain't gonna say it. It's already on your mind.

Some may call it bragging but I ain't got the time.
I'm coming to get cha, thats right, look out, I'm sneaking up from behind, I'm sneaking up from behind you.
Don't worry, just a little bit more to say. I might wait 'till tomorrow it ain't gotta be today

I'm gonna tell my story, I don't know where to begin.
The one thing that I know for sure; The Alembic always wins.

(Saundra) Ain't no worry in tomorrow, U just take care of today. When theres nothing left to borrow, then U have the right to say...

Chorus (Bootsy) My name's Alembic, and I'm played like a player plays (Yeah, set if off, baby)
My Name's Alembic, and I'm played like a player plays
My name is...

(Bootsy) Ah the name's Alembic baby, yeah just put your hands right here, while I whisper in your ear. And, ah, just in case U didnt' know, I'm hear to tell U so. And , ah, just in case U didn't know, I'm hear to tell U so.

Let me hear U say "Play Alembic play" come on, come on, come on,

(Bass Solo)
Chorus (Bootsy) My Name's Alembic, and I'm so finger funkin' good U can never wash off this funk debris even if U could.

My name's Alembic and I encourage U to learn how I play 'cause in practice there is a perfection.

Now, tell 'em what I say My name is...
(Bootsy-ad libs)

Not sure how accurate the base lyrics are cos I pinched them off the net.
Happy Monday

Thanks JV!

Welcome to the board Adolphus!
As you may have noticed looking at the dates and number of posts under the usernames, the guys in this particular discussion have all known each other for several years; and it may be helpful for you to know that they are all highly regarded and respected members of our community. They have all made significant contributions to our group, and I am greatly appreciative to them for their presence here. And yes, as regular members of this community for the last few years, they know it's not a monastery. In fact, we view this place as, in essence, an extension of the Wickersham household; and we endeavor to comport ourselves as guests in the home of a family for whom we have great affection and appreciation. Sometimes we bring "stuff" from our busy and chaotic lives into this place with us; and it affects how we interact with our brothers and sisters here. It happens. It's understandable. It's not a monastery; but it is a private space (you have to be a registered member to post here) into which we have been welcomed by the family who purchased and who maintain the servers and software to make this space possible. And now, as Keavin suggested, it's time for me to go practice my bass!

Best use for bullet casings I've ever seen! As for the "offending" cartoon, and Keavin's explanation, it reminded me of my late father who, as I was growing up, claimed to have coined "OSIM" as a response to "TGIF". For that I am appreciative.

Keavin,
Your e-mail with the following message:
"DELETED"
was not appreciated.
Dave, I wouldn't mind if you left this post intact, as I was just forwarding what the classy Mr. Barnes e-mailed to me.

Keavin, I think I'll pass that kutchy on the left-hand side (hi Jazzy) - in my experience Monday mornings are not the best time for consuming intoxicants of any type.

I beleive that this thread should shift over to "beer". This always seems to lighten-up any topic and put things in a more appropriate perspective, at least for me. :-) Cheers to all of you! (as he banged his mug on the table. Who will 2nd the motion?

Good morning!

Rich and Keavin; just wanted to let you know that I'm trying to contact you both off board; which at this point may be a more appropriate venue than Mark's thread.

Mark, my apologies for letting your thread devolve in this manner. I appreciate your link to the Dead site and intend to check it out when I have time. Thanks!!

You know, I am not a beer drinker. BUT, I am willing to try it out. What should I start off with? You know something to ease into it. Should I go straight to the good stuff, or have the really bad stuff first so I can learn to appreciate?

Dear Alembic Club members,
First of all, I would like to apologize for what I've done to stink up this thread. I should be concerned only with my own actions and let others be who they are.
Keavin, no matter what I think about you or the content of your posts, a personal insult was very inappropriate. I'm sorry.
Sincerely,
Rich

Thanks Mark (& Dave)...'81 was a great Dead year, and I was at that very show @ the Rutgers Athletic Center (RAC...then home to the NJ Nets)...you can probably hear me screaming like a maniac from my stage left seats across from the soundboard(s).
