Anybody have any experience with Carver amps? I found a pretty good deal on a PM-900 to use with my Alembic F1-X. Just wanted some opinions, good, bad or indifferent.

Thanks!

I've used a PM 175 for years until I needed more power. I just picked up a used PM 600. To my ear they are very clean and don't really add any tone to the sound. My Crests adeed a bit of punch. I started using QSC plx's and I love them. I never ever had a problem with the Carvers. I still use My 175 for monitors. Still going strong since 1986! Also they are very light compared to many amps. Good for the back.

Carvers are OK, but not the best for bass. I used to use one (I forget the model) that was rated around 400-450 wpc at 8 ohms and it didn't have the juice of my 250 wpc CM Labs and certainly didn't rival my current QSC PLX 2402.

PS It worked much better in our monitor rack.
