That clip comes from an instructional DVD that I have, and it's well worth it if you can find a copy. Aside from the fact that Mr. Prestia had and continues to have a huge influence on my style, the video itself has some great split screens where you can see his technique from the front and from the top at the same time.

And only 4 strings! Salieri could never say "too many notes" to Rocco! A grand master of taste and cool!

And he must have quite the set of ears: I spend a fair amount of time on the Eden forum (www.eden-electronics.com), and it's been a continuing process to perfect his 810 cabinet (available now) and his signature head (possibly coming out of the black world finally at NAMM this weekend) even for David Nordschow.

Will be interesting to see the final product. . .

I got to play with that amp & cabinet when Eden was still in Minnesota.

That thing moves a lot of air.

Rocco is a bad man. There are a number of ways to get that same type of sound/definition when playing the fast staccato lines. Resting your ring and pinky finger on the strings like he does is just one of them.

Too bad that was done during that era of the TOP band. The 80's was a dark time for them... no Garibaldi, crap lead singer, and the weakest their horn section has ever been.
