Ok, I've been working on this song for about two months. It's insane what's gone into it, but the important point is that I finally did something with the Alembic, and it sounds great. Check it out:

www.myspace.com/fromthelaboratory

The title, roughly translated, means "What is Funky?"

I'm linking Frenchiness with funkiness in some arcane way, possibly through linking French surrealism/dadism with characters like Funkenstein and Sir Nose. "Monsieur Funky" is basically Salvador Dali, someone also incredibly funky in the Funkadelic manner.

Lyrics follow. Thank you, Alembic! I was so happy I was able to do a song w/ this kind of tone.

Qu'est-ce Que C'est, Funky?

Hey you freaky French mother******
What's that step in your brand new bag?
What's the way in sound from way out?
Is it up for sale?

Qu'est-ce que c'est
What you say
Qu'est-ce que c'est, Monsieur Funky?

What's the sign
Signify
Why the what and what the why?

It's the man in the black pajamas
The blackened heart of the sacred sun
The happy ass dropping in your face
Fun for everyone

Qu'est-ce que c'est
What you say
Qu'est-ce que c'est, Monsieur Funky?

What's the sign
Signify
Why the what and what the why?

It's the turbine in the mountain
The curling arc of your thin mustache
The dragon's breath and the rabbit's run
Burning in the sun

br:

You Frenchy little funk machine
How can you be so ****ing mean?
You come to me as in a dream
Where nothing is as it will seem

What is the what that makes us real?
That gives us such undying feel?
A solar, psychedelic feel
To wash away the devil's deal

Qu'est-ce que c'est, qu'est-ce que c'est, qu'est-ce que c'est?

Sweet! That sure sounds like an Alembic bass to me. Nice work too. ;)

Seriously. :-)

Best Regards,

Kimberly :-)

I was really happy when the Alembic sounded best on the track...I actually used it on a lot of the "Luminosity" material -- my previous CD -- but nothing really showcased it....

Remix up! It's amazing what a little tambourine will do.
