its time or close to it for me to be changing jobs again, Funny how these things sneek up on us. i thought i had a job for life. i still do but i need to look around asap as i have no confidence or trust that new mgt can turn things around or not screw me in 9 months with promises i dont think they have any intention delivering on. that being said- does anyone have experience using the kits out there that flush the system such as zydot etc. i got a few days clean. i figure i need a month and of course there is an opportunity knocking at the door. an good ops in the mortgage business right now are hard to come by PLEASE HELP! any bonafide firsthand feedback is appreciated. please no comic remarks- not in the greatest of moods duh,,,, i see liguids and pills and combos on the net. | ||

I have only a little experience with drug screening, and I have never tried any detox stuff. I do know that drug tests are very specific, and they don't necessarily test for Marijuana. For the one drug test I had to take years ago, (life insurance policy) I asked about what they test for, and was told, opiates and cocaine only. I know my experience may be different from what you are put through, but I think you have a right to know what they are testing for, after all, the tests are not full proof. I am actively involved in drug screening for pre employment, one way is just to drink lots of water, this has the same effect as any detox method, it will dilute and then flush any metabolites out of the bloodstream. We tell all testees not to drink the water from the cooler prior to the test Non evidential drug testing(using the urine test cassettes) is looking for the METABOLITES not the drug Evidential drug testing where the urine sample i it is sent away, the drug is detected by chromatography. Some companies use hair testing which is far more accurate and cannot be masked. I would give yourself at least a couple of weeks free but certainly give the water method a try. | ||

All of the "cleansing" products involve drinking lots of water. Guess what? M&Ms work too, IF you drink lots of water. Get the picture? Of course this may not be necessary. A casual user will be clean in about 7-10 days. A heavy user (daily) will be clean in about 30 days. If you use the "water" method, it is actually better to drink juice. Copious amounts of water will visually dilute your urine which may result in a specific gravity test which will reveal the dilution. Juices, milk, liquids with color are less likely to result in visually detected dilution. Also, NEVER give up your first pee of the morning. Drink & pee, over and over again for the day preceding the test. Finally, if you are asked if you are on any medication, tell them you've recently taken some Advil. Ibprophren is known to cause false positives for THC on the EMIT test (that's the cheap test most often used in the employment environment). A slight positive will be explained by the Advil. I was just tossing that out there. I have heard of it being done as part of the general screening process, but I'm in high tech and was working specifically for/with internet companies. I wouldn't really expect that sort of thing from bankers. | ||

The only time I was ever tested was two days since I had last imbibed and I got the job. I don't know if I passed as I never saw any results and didn't have the nerve to ask for them, but I did drink enough enough water to probably bring me close to water toxicity levels..... or whatever it's properly called. -JP | ||

well did lose my job= citigroup shut down all second mtgs. of course they lied about being kept on board./ got some type of severance pkg to tide me over for a while. but getting a job in the mtg biz might be a tad difficult. so at 55yrs i might be changinf g careers for the 3rd time on a better note. i told the dock to drop my boat in the water asap., i need to fish! i did fill up last year which i never do so i am sitting with 150 gals of 3.25 fuel with a current price of like 4.75 at the dock. back to the detox search thanks | ||

Theres not much difference between the coasts when it comes to professional jobs and drug testing. In fact I had to get drug tested far more on the west coast because of how much more prevelant casual drug use was. Its just the way things have been going for a long time. Here on the east coast most places are only doing an initial drug test which is what I found to be the case on the west coast. There are kits on the web that are available and you can even buy drug testing kits to test yourself to see where you stand. | ||

Ben: Water is basically the right idea, with one caveat. (See my post of Feb 22, above). Wow the Constitution! What an amazing document! I remember the good old days when it actually meant something in this Country ... before it was repealed. I spent this afternoon in court on a case where a couple was found growing cannabis. The cops also found about $30,000 in the home and seized it for forfeiture (a quaint little rule we have here in the States where the gov't gets to take away your property if a cop testifies that in his personal opinion he thinks it's from illicit sources or is meant to be spent on such. Then the burden is on the owner to prove where it came from and what it's for, (and pay all the lawyer's fees to do this) otherwise the gov't keeps your property). Well in this case the gov't is prosecuting both the criminal matter and the forfeiture as a civil matter. The prosecutor wants to do regular civil discovery - take my client's deposition, have my client answer written interrogatories and produce documents requested by the gov't. I told the prosecutor he is going to have to wait for the criminal case to resolve as, until then, my client has a Fifth Amendment right to remain silent. The prosecutor's response? "It depends on the question". So much for Constitutional rights. They were great while they lasted. Now go put on a helmet, wear your seatbelt, no talking on the cell while driving, take off your clothes before getting on an airplane or entering a federal building, no hugging children, no telling jokes at the office, don't let anyone see your nipples, and pay $4.00 a gallon for the right to enjoy the above privileges. Flax: Most studies on THC metabolites remaining in the system consider "heavy use" as daily. Obviously, the more you use daily, the longer it will stay in your system. Graeme: THe weird thing is that I live in the San Francisco Bay Area where much of the nation's gasoline is refined, yet we pay the most ... even more than Hawaii where the gas has to be shipped over 2000 miles of ocean. My son claims a friend of his has one & has successfully used it on multiple occasions. Myself, I've never had to fill the cup in the presense of others. Though, on my last "random"* test they sent me just after I'd come out of the facilities, and volume was a problem. The collector had me sit for 1.5 hrs drinking water until I could fill it - I guess I owe her some thanks! Peter *10% of drivers are "randomly" hit every quarter by an "impartial and anonymous" system operated by consortia of employers. I was sent 6 quarters in a row. Real Estate is in the crapper, and lots of agents and mortgage Brokers have gone on to other (hopefully better) things. I've been searching for a house for the last 4mos. and while it is a buyers market, they t'aint givin' nothin' away. Fortunately for me, new housing developers are choking on inventory, so I just scored a new Townhome for slightly more than everyone else's craptastic resale. Finance deals are prevalent as well: I used Wells-Fargo as they were in cahoots with the developer and I made 'em an offer they couldn't refuse, LOL! FWIW< you might wanna try them (Wells)...they aren't doing too bad in the Mortgage world, relatively speaking. $4.09/gal for Diesel here in Joisey! Went up $0.20 last week alone! My Dodge Ram Cummins 4X4 was an "economy" vehicle when I bought it...17-19MPG...gas was $1.80/gal while #2D was $1.40/gal! Now I need a mortgage for every $130-$140 weekly fill-up! I turned 113kMiles, and, whooooopeeeee! I'm getting 19.5MPG!!! I wanna kill myself, LOL! LAST payment is next month, however. Just in time to go back into debt again to buy another now that the truck is spank-a-doolied! Keep flushing your system with antioxidants and wasser, Flax. On the "random" testing: I used to be a truck driver for a major building materials center (Hugh M. Woods/Payless Cashways). They instituted regular drug screening as part of the commercial driver's license renewal process, which happened every two years. They also decided to institute "random" testing additionally. I refused to submit to that. I told them that if they called me at random, I would quit on the spot. They didn't want to lose me because I had an excellent safety and dependability record. For some reason, in the two years that they had "random" testing every driver got called for a drug screen except for me. So much for "random." | ||
