You know what really takes a toll on my nerves? If you've heard of the famous game "Guitar Hero" It's pretty easy once you get used to playing it, but some people think that because they can play guitar hero, they're the gods of rock and they can easily master a real guitar (or bass). It's very annoying.

"Dude, check it out! I'm so awesome! I can play Through the Fire and Flames on expert!"
"yeah, but can you do it on a real Guitar?"
"Well, um..... no."
"Then shut up because that means you don't really have any musical talent because it's just a stupid plastic controller!"

I find this ironic coming from me because I love the game, but at least I can play an instrument.

Jeff was one of my favorites. No one put more heart into their playing.

Jared,

Anyone who can play Through the Fire and Flames on expert has my admiration. It probably does demonstrate a level of raw talent which could be applied to learning the guitar (if they'd get off the sofa!).

Rock band is a way better game anyhow, but I just wish either of them had some decent music.

I find it ironic that I'm kinda-sorta OK on bass, but managed to humiliate myself in front of my nieces and nephews the first time I played Guitar Hero.
Oops.

Guitar Hero looks to me to be Dance Revolution using your fingers. But hey, you want something REALLY ridiculous? How about the World Air Guitar Championships?

I think you just have to keep things in perspective. I played Guitar Hero for the first time over Christmas with my brother-in-law and his girls and had a blast. It's just a game. It's supposed to be fun. And like a lot of other things in life, if you take it too seriously or read too much into it, it ceases to be so.
