I've seen threads here talking about Mozilla Firefox so after one last frustrating IE freeze I downloaded it. Wow! What a difference! Thanks for the tip.

Safari is very good too. I use that mostly. There is also a version for Windows users.

I find Safari feels a little snappier than Firefox on my iMacs - but there are a couple of sites that I use regularly that have some glitches under Safari but work perfectly in Firefox.

David, exactly right - Safari is generally faster with an iMac, but Firefox is compatible with some commercial websites with which Safari has problems. For Mac users, either are superior to the version of Explorer available for the Mac platform.

I'm sure I heard on the Mac OS Ken podcast that IE is not being updated for the mac anymore. Which is why I started using Safari and Firefox

I use Windows XP and have been having problems with IE on a regular basis. After Jazzy's post I also downloaded Safari. I like the look of it but overall Firefox gets my vote.

I stopped using IE three years ago, after it allowed malignant viruses into my PC that forced me to rebuild my Win XP system from scratch three times in one week. No problems to speak of after I downloaded Firefox, even while my wife is using the machine. ;)

I used Opera for a while it's quite nice as well, but I'm all Firefoxed here. I suppose I should test the website in something other than Firefox.

I've been using Firefox as a primary for ages, but I keep IE installed and at the ready for the various websites that require it. I haven't tried Safari yet, but installed it a few days ago because I was tired of the Apple updater harassing me about not having it installed at the latest version. I may give it a spin, but it will be a tough sell to replace Firefox as my primary browser.

As a web developer, it's important to have a few browsers available for testing. The larger the site audience, the more options we test. When I was running the website at Switchboard.com, we studied our logs and used general internet resources to identify all browser types and revisions that made up 1% or more of the traffic for testing. Of course, the internet was our business. It would have really hurt if we dropped 5% of our traffic because we put up something that broke a particular browser. I don't think Alembic's business would take the same hit from such an error.

I fell in love with firefox many moons ago, and continue to love it because of the many extensions.

I have a greasemonkey script which killfiles certain users whose postings have a tendency to cause a rise in the blood pressure. This is a great capability-- it allows me to browse the web the way I choose.

Thumbs up on Firefox. Downloaded it last night! I love the cleaner interface, seems more utilitarian.

I use all 3. I really don't have many problems with IE, I don't have any problems with Safari or Firefox. I use Safari at home home on my Mac and IE at work. I very seldom use firefox.

Well, I installed Firefox yesterday, spent considerable time downloading and trying various add-ons to get it set up the way I work; not there yet.

Of the sites I've been on, our board seems to be the one with the most problems. I'm getting lots of time outs. But then maybe there's something wrong with the Alembic servers today.
