It's amazing, looking back from the perspective of today, how a bicycle ride on April 19, 1943, begat the 60's as much as anything else did. I am lucky to own a piece of blotter art commemorating the 60th anniversary of Dr. Hofmann's discovery of the psychoactive properties of LSD (five year after he first synthesized the substance) signed by the great chemist himself. I'll try to get a good pic and post it here tonight or tomorrow.
