Hi Guys. :-)

I thought it time to 'throw this out on the table'. :-)

I've got six hours of rental time credit at the Island Music Guild hall left over from the last time we tried a Pac NW get together (cancelled due to power outage).

So in an effort to use it, have some fun, swap licks, admire different Alembics, enjoy the camaraderie of fellow Alembicians and share in the passion of Alembic instruments in general, not to mention making some music, I'm making the call for a second chance Bainbridge Bass Rumble and calling for a show of hands of those who would be interested in participating. :-)

Date to be determined, but June is the basic time frame at this moment.

Thoughts? ;)

Best Regards,

Kimberly :-)

My June calendar is already pretty insane with gigs so depending on that bit - I'd be interested again. I can actually bring two Alembics this time! :-)

June should be do-able. Wide open right now, and if we schedule soon, I can block dates ("ah, yes, well, my calendar is full that day").

After this winter, I'm idling my cars in the driveway and swapping out my hazardous waste CFs for incandescent (in the interest of speeding up global warming).

Power outage or no, it was a great time last time.

Thanks Kimberly.

Hi Guys. :-)

Sounding good. :-)

How's about we look at these days/dates, tentatively speaking of course. ;)

Per the online calendar at this point the Guild is available on:

Sunday, June 15th starting at 1pm.

Saturday, June 28th starting at 1pm.

Sunday June 29th starting at 1pm.

July looks much better for availability.

Every Saturday is wide open.

Every Sunday is open starting at 1pm.

In just speaking with the Guild these dates are confirmed as open. I told them I'd post this message and see what responses I get. Needless to say, the sooner we lock in a 'group consensus' date, the better able to reserve the hall on a date that works for and meets our needs. :-)

So....whaddya say? :-)

Best Regards,

Kimberly :-)

Okie dokie. :-)

Let's look at July. At this point in time all Saturdays are open for the month.

http://www.islandmusic.org/reservations/month.php?year=2008&month=7&area=1&room=12

The quicker we select one of the 4 available July dates, the better chance we have of actually being able to book it.

So....let's narrow it down a bit.

July 5th - Show of hands?

July 12th - Show of hands?

I'm 'easy'. ;) Either one works for me. IF I had a druther, it would be the 5th simply because it comes sooner and I'm really looking forward to doing this. :-) However, if the other dates work better for the majority that's just fine by me. :-)

Thoughts? ;)

Best Regards,

Kimberly :-)

July 12th for me.

Don't really want to deal with 4th of July weekend traffic over the Pass.

But that's just me!

Dan - Sounds good to me! And I agree completely about 4th of July traffic (another good catch). :-)

I'm in for the 12th of July. Dan's in for the 12th of July. :-)

Sweet. :-)

Four lined up for July 12th. :-)

I just booked the Island Music Guild hall for July 12th from 2pm-10pm. I imagine this will give us plenty of time to yak, jam, swap licks, learn, teach and simply enjoy the 'specialness' of an Alembic owners get together. :-)

Speaking of 'specialness' it's just a little bit possible but possible nonetheless, we could have a special guest or maybe even two. If all works out as hoped for and chatted about with schedules and alignment of the planets etc, I'm sure if our guest(s) are able to make it, all attendee's will be most pleased. :-) Nuff said about that. ;)

Here's to the 12th of July Bainbridge Rumble II.

I'll be providing:

Epifani single 12 combo.
Roland 100watt bass cube.
16 channel powered Yamaha mixer.
Pair of two way 12's for mains.
Tascam 2488 Mark II Porta-Studio.
Synth and looper.
Five string Epic.

BTW, this is going to be a closed door Alembic owners gathering. Alembics, musicians, eight hours, locked doors. Hmmm...sounds like a party to me. ;)

Hope to see you there. :-)

Best Regards,

Kimberly :-)

PS. - Adam, still plenty of time to make work and travel arrangements. ;)

Kimberly,

I just got your email regarding the Pac NW Alembic gathering. Sounds very cool. Unfortunately, I will be at the Police concert at the Gorge on the 12th.

Thanks for tracking me down and sending the invite. I hope you all have a great time.

Well, I won't be at the Rumble after all.

Joined a new band 3 weeks ago, and guess which weekend is our first gig? Yep.

So, in tribute of the 2nd missed get-together, I will be taking my beloved Distillate out into the back woods of N. Idaho and giving those yokels a taste of Thunder.

Maybe next time.

As far as I'm concerned, as you the know the guy I have no problem whatsoever. :-)

If any of the attendees have a problem with this, let's hear it now.

No response = He's good. :-)

How many confirmed for this event now?

I'm still unfortunately on the fence. My lovlii girlfriend and I will be at White River Amphitheater until late the night before getting our ears funkified by Stevie Wonder.

If I manage to make it I can bring a rack with three preamps in it for people to check out (if there is interest).

Preamps: SWR Mini Mo, Ampeg SVP-CL, Aguilar DB680

Along with my two Alembic fishes and possibly some other gear.

Hi Brian, :-)

Four confirmed, one 'undecided/uncertain' (yourself) ;) and two who have said they would but it's been awhile ago, one cancellation and one unavailable.

If you'd like to bring gear, that's fine with me. Not to mention the fact that we'll have power to be able to do the ole 'ABC...' thing. :-)

I'll have my Epifani UL single 12 combo and Roland Cube. We'll see about PA. I'm running EV ZX-1's (8" two way). It's good for my solo stuff but limited with multiple bassists. However, we can probably use their Mackie 15's. My mixer's 500 watts a side so that's also an option for amplification if needed/as needed. :-)

This is going to be fun. :-)

Kimberly :-)

Hi Guys. :-)

Elwood - Got your email, thank you. :-) I've been to the Upstage a couple of times, once to check out their open mike and once to grab a bite and listen to a jazz band. Nice venue. Thanks for the memory jog, I had forgotten about it. Time for a promo package. Solo Bassist Kimberly Lynn etc, etc, blah, blah and blah. ;)

Bradley - Good to hear from you and looking forward to meeting again under what I would like to think better circumstance, as in having power. :-)

Gonna be fun. I don't think my new bass will be here in time, but that's okay. I still have my Sweetie. :-)

Any other interested parties? Contact me via my profile email and we'll work the details. :-)
