If you've ever wondered just what Joe Cocker was singing at Woodstock, the answers are here!

I laughed! Several times! As many times as I've seen that performance, over several decades, it's never occurred to me that I had no idea what he was saying. As far as I was concerned that's how the song goes. Of course I love the Beatles version too; it just has different words.

"I need some Wonder loaf"
Well, sure Joe.
After all, it builds strong bodies 12 ways, (even if your leg gets cut off)

I've always thought Joe Cocker was great, but that's hillarious! And I thought I knew what he was saying...

BTW, I saw a movie a while back where Joe did a cameo... Across the Universe

Cool movie, it even has Furthur in it.

A fine tutorial!
The lyricist is the unacknowledged genius in this case. One can imagine hours upon hours of introspection to come up with such fine lyrics. And so very ahead of their time. Others of the day, Jim Croche and Carol King would naturally bow to such a lyricist.
AH! Just did some research and the guy's name is Art Wholeflaffer. As well as being the president of the Funny Names Club of America, he also writes interview responses for Mariah Cary. next stop, the White House!
